Former Mifflin Township Employee Falsified Timesheet Hours
Columbus – A former part-time Mifflin Township (Franklin County) employee submitted timesheet hours that overlapped with her full-time job at the Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI), according to audits of the township released today by Auditor of State Dave Yost.
“No one has magic powers to be in two places at the same time,” Auditor Yost said. “When it happens 68 times, it’s no mistake – it’s fraud.”
Angela Price worked part-time as a police officer for Mifflin Township while working full-time as an insurance investigation officer at ODI. During the period May 31, 2013 through October 8, 2014, auditors identified 68 instances totaling 203 hours in which Price submitted time worked on timesheets for both entities that overlapped with each other – resulting in an overpayment of $2,232 by the township.
A finding for recovery in the amount of $2,232 was issued against Price. She pled guilty to theft in office on September 29. Price repaid the full amount to the township on October 7.
Full copies of these audits may be accessed online: 2013 and 2014.
