Press Release • Ohio Auditor of State
Statement from Auditor of State Dave Yost
Columbus – The following statement can be attributed to Auditor of State Dave Yost in response to today’s action by the General Assembly on H.B. 66, which requires by law the fraud reporting system used by the Auditor of State’s office and extends additional protection to public employees who report fraud, commonly known as “whistleblowers”:
“Rep. McGregor has worked hard over three sessions now to pass this good government bill,” Yost said. “A proven system of reporting fraud is now permanent Ohio law, where it will help protect state and local taxpayers from fraud that, unfortunately, we discover all too frequently.”
The bill was sponsored by Representative Ross McGregor (R - Springfield). Yost also commended Senator Kris Jordan (R – Powell) for his work in support of the bill. The bill was sponsored by Rep. Ross McGregor.
