Thursday, August 14, 2014

Columbus – The following statement may be attributed to Auditor of State Dave Yost regarding the guilty plea entered today by former Fairfield County Clerk of Court, Deborah Smalley.

“Her prior claims of innocence were overshadowed by the evidence pile,” Auditor Yost said. “I am glad to see that Mrs. Smalley is, at long-last, taking responsibility for her actions.”

“Congratulations are in order to the investigators and special audit staff for their tireless efforts, and to the valiant county employees who came forward during the investigation.”
